On November 8, we will be hosting an in-person educational event at Lutheran General Hospital in the Special Functions Room.

Our first speaker will be Dr. Deborah Sindewald, RN, MS, PhD. Deborah has been a post-doctoral student of Dr. Jean Watson. Deborah conducted a study based on Dr. Watson's work." Deborah's presentation is entitled "The Theory of Human Caring: Sharing Caring Moments with a Cardiac Telemetry Staff." The purpose of the study was to introduce the Theory of Human Caring (Watson, 2008) in the form of the Ten Caritas Processes to the cardiac staff over a period of six months and to measure the effect on unit staff of implementing the 10 Caritas Processes.

Our second speaker will be Lee Erickson, RN, MSN. Lee has worked as a mental health nurse and currently is a faculty member of Chamberlain University. His presentation is titled, "Update on HIV in the US along with a personal perspective."
